Student Welfare
Burnside Public School operates on the three basic
principles of CARE, COURTESY and CONSIDERATION.
Students, staff and parents work together to create an
environment conducive to the total development of the students and where
these principles are developed and encouraged.
The following are points taken from the Student
Welfare Policy developed through extensive consultation with students,
staff and parents:
- Safety of each and every
child is paramount. Rules have been developed to ensure the safety of
children.
- Emphasis is placed on
encouragement, praise and rewards.
- The wearing of a school
uniform is important and encouraged.
- NO HAT – NO PLAY:
This is an effort to reduce the effects of UV rays on children's skin.
- We pride ourselves on our
reputation within the local and wider community when it comes to
behaviour of the children.
- Homework is regarded as
being an essential part of a child’s education.
To encourage appropriate behaviour, the following
